Safety
If you are in danger right now
Your safety matters more than anything else on this site. Please contact real-world help now.
Get help immediately
- Call your local emergency number (for example 911 in the US, 999 in the UK, 112 across the EU, 112 or 119 in Indonesia).
- Contact a local suicide or crisis helpline. In the US and Canada you can call or text 988. In the UK and Ireland you can call 116 123 (Samaritans).
- If you are outside these places, findahelpline.com lists free crisis lines by country.
- Go to your nearest emergency department, or ask someone to take you.
- Tell one person you trust what is happening, and stay with them.
While you wait for help
- Try not to be alone. Call someone and stay on the line.
- Move away from anything you could use to hurt yourself, or ask someone to hold it for you.
- Avoid alcohol and other drugs right now.
- You do not have to explain everything. Saying 'I am not safe right now' is enough.
This is not something to wait out
Severe premenstrual symptoms can be part of what you're feeling, but thoughts of suicide or self-harm always need real medical attention, whatever the cause. Please speak to a qualified healthcare professional as soon as possible, and tell them what you have been experiencing.
